5th KURT SCHWABE SYMPOSIUM in ELECTROCHEMISTRY:

CORROSION; SEMICONDUCTORS; SOLAR CELLS

UNIVERSITY OF ERLANGEN-NÜRNBERG, ERLANGEN. GERMANY, MAY 24-28, 2009

We invite you to participate in the 5th Kurt Schwabe Symposium, which continues previous symposia in Hungary (Tata) in 1993, in Germany (Dresden) in 1997, in Poland (Zakopane) in 2000, and in Finland (Espoo) in 2004.

The symposium is an effort to bring together the diverse research in different fields of electrochemical materials science including metal corrosion, semiconductor electrochemistry, and solar energy conversion. Papers are solicited in areas related to materials durability issues, in particular all aspects of corrosion and corrosion protection, electrochemical surface engineering techniques with the potential to achieve 2D or 3D nano- and micro-architectures either via dissolution or deposition approaches such as site selective cluster formation, selective dissolution/deposition, pore formation, nanorod/ nanotube growth and etching, and other self-aligning processes; and their applications in particular to energy conversion devices such as solar cells.

The symposium will be held at the “Schloss” of Erlangen (the residence of university founder Margrave Friedrich in the 18th century, today hosting the university headquarters).

The deadline for abstract submission will be December 30, 2008.
